Knoxville Habitat for Humanity built 7 houses in 7 days from the ground up April 9th - 16th, 2011. Thanks to our 13 Covenant Partners and more than 1,400 volunteers, all 7 houses were finished on time. Check out this cool time-lapse video of one of the houses going up during the course of 7 days. Thanks to The Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council at The University of Tennessee for funding this house and for bringing out the volunteers to build it!
MDIHS Habitat for Humanity 2013. Each year, in partnership with Hancock County (Maine) Habitat for Humanity, students at Mount Desert Island High School build the walls for a house. We cut lumber and fabricate the wall panels in our school shop, then ship them to the building site where volunteers assemble the panels to form the house frame. Sumner High School builds the roof trusses, which are added later. Before shipping, we put the walls together in the school parking lot to see the assembled product and check for mistakes. MDIHS Art Teacher Dan Stillman made a movie of this year's event, the completion of our 7th house. Many thanks to all those who make this possible.
